We are looking for a solid Telecom OSP Construction Manager – Small Cell & Fiber for a long term contract. This position is with a great Company with a solid, long term track record. You must be willing to travel through the Southern California area (mileage will be reimbursed).
Must have hands on knowledge of the Aerial portion of construction and OSP construction along with splicing and be able to read OTDR's.
Knowledge of fiber testing, excel experience.
The ideal candidates will have a background managing the pre-construction and construction phases of Fiber /OSP deployments (QA/QC). You will be managing General Contractors doing the assigned Fiber Construction including scheduling, reporting and due dates.
You should have experience related to aerial and below-ground fiber construction, node construction and related utility make-ready work.
Familiarity with Rules for Overhead Electric Line Construction or Public Right of Way experience is preferred and any small cell experience is a definite plus.
Your primary responsibilities will include the following:
Managing the pre-construction and construction phases of the OSP project – deliver on time, on budget, within quality and safety standards.
Resolution of OSP Construction/Design issues.
Managing General Contractors in pre-construction and construction activities
Participating in project meetings and effectively support the overall project effort.
Managing the project schedule to ensure the project milestones and deadlines are met.
QA/QC - Inspecting and assure construction work quality and crew safety.
Managing documenting and recording construction field changes. (Red line).
Attending bid walk, pre-construction walk, in progress site visits, punch walks and construction closeouts and provide direction to general contractors when doing ground work.
Three plus (3) years of telecommunications/wireless construction experience
Knowledge of Outside Plant Construction techniques (aerial & underground)
Fiber installation, hub/node construction and related utility make-ready.
Familiarity construction drawings and test equipment and techniques for performing RF Sweep test, OTDR, Power Meter and Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing.
