OSP Design Engineer - Permitting
We are currently recruiting for an Outside Plant Engineer to work with our clients permitting team on projects in WV, DE, MD, PA. This is a long-term (1-2 year) contract position with the potential for hire. This is a WFH role with occasional travel within the West Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, or Pennsylvania region.
Pay: $45/hr. DoE plus mileage
You should have experience with Outside Plant Fiber Networks from preliminary design through to a fully implemented solution. You should be comfortable with field design and permitting and be equally comfortable working in both a home office with occasional travel for meetings and field review. You will create and review permit drawings and packages and manages the relationship with jurisdictions and ROW to detail specific requirements including design specifications, permit lead times, points of contact, and specific requirements to expedite the permit delivery process.
You should have familiarity reviewing design specs and documentation. Creating workflows and processes and developing and maintaining project schedules. In addition you should have good vendor management skills. You will be responsible for the :ownership of the permitting approval process including:
Permitting Relationships with Pole Owners, Municipalities, DOTs, and RRs
Make Ready review and approval.
Self-Remedy Review and approval
Understanding of the NESC guidelines
Working with the Outside Plant Engineering for field solutions
Field visits as needed for poles surveys and to attend Municipality meetings.
Solid computer skills are necessary (Excel, CAD).
