Field Construction Manager (HFC, Fiber, Coax) Rochester, NY

Our growing telecommunications client is needing a Field Construction Manager for a large fiber broadband upgrade in the Rochester, NY market. The Field Manager will oversee the upgrade of the Hybrid/Coax Telecom infrastructure to improve reliability and increased internet speeds.

The ideal Field Manager will have a strong background in the Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) network.

The project will involve fiber, nodes and OSP equipment upgrades for a major broadband company. The project will involve both aerial and underground work to upgrade equipment at each node in order to increase the broadband speed of the network.

You will be managing a high profile upgrade project by leading a fast paced team, providing excellent customer service to the client and tracking/reporting the progress to internal and external stakeholders.


Responsibilities:
Lead upgrade and Coaxial cable splicing crews to make sure all aspects are managed according to customer and Industry specifications.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to facilitate project completion.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to terms and conditions of agreements.
• Use software programs to manage design prints, daily reports, and job close out procedures Perform site inspections for quality control.
• Conduct/enforce job and safety awareness training to help build a strong workforce.
• Will be the face of the company when interacting with the customer and will always strive for excellent service.
• Provide timely updates on upgrade progress, review and approve as-built design prints.
• Review and process any customer damage claims.
• Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
• Will act in a professional manner, with honesty and integrity.

Experience:
The Field Project Manager will have excellent knowledge of Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) network.
• Demonstrated experience with Node, Amplifier, and Line Extender setup, balancing, and sweep.
• Lives in the Rochester or willing to relocate.
• Must be able to work overnight shift or day shift depending on project requirements.
• Ability to interpret information on (HFC) hybrid fiber coax network design maps.
• Ability to troubleshoot RF or power related issues in the HFC plant.
• Knowledge in building strand, lashing/over lashing, pole transfers, vertical grounds, and building and repairing aerial telecommunication transmission lines is a plus
Valid Driver’s License
