GIS Specialist - SME -Utilities Remote/WFH supporting the East Coast ( EST)

We are currently recruiting for a GIS/Power/Utility Specialist with the ability to work remotely /WFH supporting the East Coast hours.
The ideal candidate will be from a Electric/Power/Utility background and have experience with Pole replacement and equipment retrofitting. Experience as an Electric Distribution Designer is a huge plus.
We would also strongly consider a design team person focused on production and able to take the technical lead on this project as a “Design Manager”, Senior Engineer, or Project Engineer.
We need more of a Subject Matter Expert (SME) now and then during Phase 2 in Q1-2024 we’ll need slightly less experience (Technicians/Specialists)
Your responsibilities will include working with Plant (OSP/ISP) Engineering to develop and document our client’s fiber optic plant and physical network. You’ll apply GIS methods to our client’s Power /Utility/Fiber network and customer base. Support plant network planning, market analysis, and reporting.
Role:
What it takes to catch our eye:
4+ years’ experience in GIS in a Power /Utility Environment.
Experience with STORMS Software
An engineering degree and background preferred.

- Configure and update client’s Smallworld GIS mapping system.
- Produce CAD prints for permitting and construction.
- Work with OSP engineers, Construction, Project Management, etc.
- Manage permitting processes, submittals, and tracking.
- Support process automation using scripting, programming, etc.
- Provide support for physical network planning and network deployment strategies.
What it takes to catch our eye:
