Job Title: Director of Project Management
Job Description:
As the Director of Project Management in the building construction industry, you will oversee and lead a team of project managers, ensuring the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion. Your role will involve strategic leadership, people management, client interfacing, and profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities. With a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the building construction industry and at least 7 years in a leadership role, you will be pivotal in driving project success, optimizing resource utilization, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability.
- Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to support team growth and development.

Project Oversight and Execution:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop and implement project management methodologies, tools, and best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

Client Interfacing:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, building and maintaining strong relationships to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.
- Address client concerns and issues promptly, providing solutions and maintaining a high level of client trust and confidence.

P&L Management:
- Manage project budgets and financial performance, ensuring projects meet profitability targets and financial objectives.
- Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and analyses to senior management, highlighting project performance and financial health.

Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and execute strategic plans for the project management team, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to the growth and expansion of the company's project portfolio.

- Identify potential risks and challenges associated with construction projects, developing mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards throughout project execution.

- Optimize resource allocation and utilization across projects, ensuring efficient use of personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Implement process improvements to enhance project delivery and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the building construction industry.
- At least 7 years of experience in a leadership role, managing project management teams.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Primavera).
- PMP certification or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
