Job Title: Construction Supervisor (Backup Diesel Generators)

Job Description:

As a Construction Supervisor, you will manage the field installation of backup diesel generators and the associated electrical work. Your role will involve supervising all aspects of the installation process, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This position requires regular travel throughout Georgia, with 90% of your work conducted in the field and 10% dedicated to office computer work from your home office. Ideal candidates will have experience in civil and electrical construction, and backup generator systems is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Supervision:

    • Oversee the field installation of backup diesel generators and associated electrical work.
    • Ensure that all installations comply with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  2. Site Management:

    • Coordinate daily activities at construction sites, including labor, equipment, and materials.
    • Monitor site conditions and address any issues that may impact the progress or quality of the work.
  3. Quality Control:

    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure that installations meet quality standards and project specifications.
    • Identify and rectify any defects or deviations from project plans promptly.
  4. Team Leadership:

    • Lead and manage on-site construction teams, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
    • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
  5. Safety Management:

    • Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all personnel.
    • Conduct safety meetings, site inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  6. Client and Stakeholder Communication:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding project progress and issues.
    • Provide regular updates on project status, addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly.
  7. Scheduling and Coordination:

    • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time.
    • Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and other parties to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  8. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and inspection reports.
    • Submit regular reports to management, highlighting project milestones, challenges, and resolutions.
  9. Office Work:

    • Dedicate 10% of your time to office computer work, including project planning, documentation, and reporting from your home office.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction supervision, with a focus on civil and electrical projects.
  • Proven experience with the installation and maintenance of backup diesel generators.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout Georgia and work primarily in the field.
  • Proficiency in project management software and basic computer applications.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
