Fiber Field Construction Manager- OSP – Cleveland, OH area.

Our large Telecom client is looking to hire a Fiber Field Construction Manager in the Cleveland, Ohio area Candidate must be local to the Cleveland market as travel to sites will be required. Ideal candidate will have OSP and ISP experience – both aerial and underground. 
The ideal candidate will have experience with:
Fiber cable splicing,  OTDR testing, Fiber network design, OSP and ISP fiber construction, Construction/Splicing crew management, Power Utility make-ready work (NESC knowledge),UG utility location and re-routing , Utility pole proposal management (SPANS, NJUNS, Katapult)
We are looking for experienced and knowledgeable Construction Manager in either the Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky districts. This is a field position that will be working remotely. Will be required to meet with the team on a quarterly basis. Possible temp to perm assignment.

The ideal candidates will have experience with outside plant and inside plant cable construction in aerial and underground facilities, with a thorough knowledge of all issues related to local and state permitting, pole and conduit licensing procedures from Utilities, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Position also requires the capability to manage multiple construction contractors. From project qualification and design through punch-list and close-out, the Fiber Construction Manager will ensure that projects are completed to client and internal specification, on time, and within budget.


Role :
Your primary responsibilities will include the following:
Day-to-day administrative activities of the fiber Network Construction team including creating PO’s, creating CM’s, reviewing invoices for accuracy, reviewing splice packages from Fiber Engineering, and fiber splicing within the assigned geographic area. The position will work with all team members on improving the quality of the billing processes, deliverables and the end-to-end splicing process. Common activities will involve area data identification, collection, analysis, and reporting; along with understanding operational business functions and processes. Each network construction team is expected to maintain open communication across all areas of the business and work as a unit with consistency while building, implementing, and restoring or maintaining services; cognizant of fostering the vision and values of our client . This position is accountable for delivering key KPIs for their area of responsibility including but not limited to OpEx spend, MTTR, % On-Time Install, fiber complete for small cell, and installed enterprise revenue. Supports Network Construction Implementation team with assigned tasks, projects and could include, but is not limited to, the following: correspondence, administrative tasks (PO’s, CM’s & Invoicing), tracking project deliverables, dates and monitoring deadlines, provides regular and timely reports highlighting variances as they arise

What will catch our eye:
3+ years of Construction management/Supervisory experience
Knowledge of Outside Plant Construction techniques (aerial & underground) preferred
Familiarity with test equipment and techniques for performing Grounding and Bonding Tests, RF Sweep test, OTDR, Optical Power Meter and Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing preferred
Working knowledge of NESC, NEC and OSHA standards preferred
