We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee our multi-location warehouse operations from our corporate office in St. Louis. This role will report directly to the VP of Finance and will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, inventory accuracy, loss prevention, and the implementation of best practices across all warehouse facilities. The ideal candidate will combine strong operational expertise with a keen understanding of how warehouse performance impacts financial results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Management & Reconciliation
- Oversee inventory accuracy and conduct regular cycle counts across all locations
- Lead monthly/quarterly inventory reconciliation processes and variance analysis
- Implement controls to minimize shrinkage, loss, and waste
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of inventory metrics to finance team
Operational Excellence
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for receiving, putaway, storage, picking, and shipping
- Monitor warehouse productivity and efficiency metrics across all locations
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize material flow
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
System Administration & Training
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for warehouse management database/systems
- Train warehouse personnel on proper system usage and data entry protocols
- Develop training materials and best practice documentation
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to ensure consistent execution
Team Leadership
- Manage and develop 4-6 warehouse personnel across multiple locations
- Conduct performance reviews and provide regular feedback
- Coordinate staffing needs and workforce planning with site managers
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
Multi-Location Coordination
- Ensure consistent processes and standards across all warehouse facilities
- Conduct regular site visits to assess operations and provide hands-on support
- Coordinate inter-facility transfers and inventory movements
- Serve as primary liaison between corporate office and warehouse teams
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of warehouse operations or inventory management experience
- 2+ years in a supervisory or management role
- Proven track record in reducing shrinkage and improving inventory accuracy
- Strong proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory databases
- Experience managing teams across multiple locations
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or related field
- Experience in financial reconciliation or working closely with finance teams
- Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement certification
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and compliance
