Are you detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about telecom infrastructure? We're looking for a Service Inquiry Technician to support network expansion efforts by assessing customer serviceability, generating KMZ path files, and developing accurate cost estimates for Outside Plant (OSP) construction.
In this role, you’ll work at the intersection of engineering, planning, and sales—translating complex network data into actionable designs that drive service delivery and growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Generate KMZ files to map fiber and service paths from backbone infrastructure to customer premises
• Develop detailed cost estimates for OSP construction—covering labor, materials, permitting, and restoration
• Collaborate with internal teams—including Sales Engineers, Network Planning, and Construction—to confirm design feasibility and serviceability
• Meet production and response targets in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Document all inquiries—including cost breakdowns, designs, and serviceability findings—in internal systems and databases
• Contribute to process improvement by refining tools, templates, and estimating methods to increase accuracy and efficiency
• Provide timely responses to internal stakeholders on serviceability assessments and technical inquiries.
Experience & Requirements
• Associate’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years of experience in telecom, OSP design, or service inquiry roles
• Proficiency with mapping and design tools (e.g., Google Earth, KMZ/KML formats, GIS platforms)
• Familiarity with OSP construction practices, cost modeling, and estimating methodologies
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Comfortable working in a production-driven, deadline-focused environment.
Key Skills: OSP Cost Estimation & Budgeting, KMZ / KML Mapping & Design, Fiber Path Analysis, Collaboration with Sales & Engineering Teams, Production Efficiency & Accuracy, Data Documentation & Reporting
What Will Catch Our Eye: Experience using fiber network design platforms such as Vetro FiberMap, OSPInsight, or 3GIS. Knowledge of permitting and regulatory workflows for OSP builds. Familiarity with sales engineering and service qualification processes. A proactive mindset—someone who thrives in high-volume, detail-driven environments and enjoys solving technical puzzles
