Construction Manager (IL/OH Market)

Our client is looking to hire a Construction Manager in the Illinois/ Ohio market. This would be a full-time direct position which includes 401K, medical/dental/vision, PTO and more. This will be a remote position with some travel required (about 10%). Previous wireless site construction and/or carrier development is required. Previous AT&T experience would be preferred.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Work cross-departmentally on construction projects; extract contract language, develop scope, manage budgets, schedules, vendors, site designs, material ordering, progress monitoring, site utility coordination and closeouts.
  • Execute field team operational procedures to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively identify potential risk issues and collaborate with National Director, Construction to develop a preventative action plan to address them.
  • Provide effective problem resolutions to facilitate improvements between the client/customer and field team. Mediate client or subcontractor problems that arise at site level.
  • Develop strong relationships with key constituents and work with the Site Development team to scope and execute projects.
  • Maintain project database, analyze data, and communicate project updates and timelines to Site Development team, Customer and National Construction Director.
  • Coordinate with National Director, Construction and Program Managers to identify and partner with select vendors to for construction activities; review and approve project expense requests, purchase orders and vendor invoices.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Planning, Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in wireless site construction and/or carrier deployment required.
  • Between 2-3 years of management experience preferred.
  • Approximately 20% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
  • Strong organization, planning, and project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks for self and team to meet requirements and deadlines.
  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
  • Leadership qualities and capabilities; subject matter expert in construction principles and methods
