Job Title: Outside Plant Field Inspector – QA/QC
Location: Silas, AL

As a Fiber/OSP Inspector you will be involved in quality control for our client’s OSP/Fiber Build. You will be responsible for complete inspection and acceptance of fiber placement (FTTX) and associated construction activities for the OSP build project, aerial and underground cable systems, splicing, testing, termination, cable placement, construction/infrastructure, and make ready tasks. You will be involved in the initial route inspection and then heavily involved in QC/QA and vendor management as the construction moves forward.

Travel within the region will be required but mileage will be compensated by the hiring company.

Role:

• Conduct field inspections to ensure that OSP projects are completed according to project specifications and safety standards.
• Monitor the progress of OSP projects and report any issues to project managers and stakeholders.
• Inspect fiber optic cables, telephone poles, cabinets, and other OSP equipment to ensure proper installation and maintenance.
• Document inspection findings and prepare reports for project managers and stakeholders.
• Conduct site surveys to identify potential obstacles and challenges that may impact OSP project installations.
• Ensure that all OSP work is performed in compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Coordinate with other teams and contractors to ensure that all work is completed on schedule and within budget.
• Maintain accurate records of all OSP work, including site surveys, installation and maintenance activities, and project documentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices for OSP installations.

What will catch our eye: 

• Previous experience inspecting OSP/CATV (outside plant construction)
• Inspecting quality and recording field records – including review of OTDR results and As-built drawings
• OSP inspection experience and/or training; previous telecommunications experience a must.
• Experienced in construction practices of aerial (communications & power make ready, attachments, etc.) 
• Aerial pole analysis
• Experience with GPS Data Collection of as-Built facilities
• Knowledge of As-Builts, redlines and project inspection guidelines.
• Knowledge/Understanding of Fiber and Splicing Maps
• Quality control / quality assurance (QA/QC)

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in OSP installations, inspections, and maintenance.
• Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations related to OSP installations.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
