Permit Specialist - Overland Park KS
Overland Park, KS · Telecommunications · $22-$25 per hour DOETekCom Resources is seeking a Permit Specialist for a contract-to-hire role with a growing engineering firm in the Kansas City area!
The ideal candidate for this role will have permitting and jurisdiction experience. Some telecommunications background, preferably working with underground fiber and communications companies and with Utilities and Government entities for permit processing.
As the Permit Specialist, the individual will assist our client's Engineering Department with:
Permitting, municipal government, utilities, telecommunications, jurisdictions, permit processing, fiber construction, project coordination.

As the Permit Specialist, the individual will assist our client's Engineering Department with:
- Submission and tracking of permit applications
- Accurate and efficient identification of required permits and agreements
- Client management and accountability
- Fiscal review of projects
- Quality control/quality assurance - tracking and managing A/E vendors
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- 1-2 years of project management experience in the telecom industry - you do NOT need extensive experience, just background knowledge and the right attitude!
- Past experience working with the local jurisdictions submitting and obtaining permits.
- Strong Computer Skills - MS, Word, Excel
