Professional Engineer, Fiber Design - Remote
Remote, Remote · Telecommunications · $100k-$120k DOETekCom Resources is seeking a Professional Engineer for a direct-hire role with a growing engineering firm in the Kansas City area! To be considered for this role, you MUST be a PE licensed in the state of California, where our client's projects are taking place.
In this role, you will be approving fiber designs and route plans submitted by our client's engineering team, as well as contributing to the production of these plans. Experience on fiber optics planning and installation projects is highly preferred.
This role may be worked remotely from ANY location as long as the candidate has a California PE license!

Successful candidates will:
- Be able to review and sign off on detailed engineering plans.
- Have a deep understanding of ROW/easements, engineering drawings, maps and utility records.
- Be able to use QGIS and other systems in the production of fiber optics design work.
- Be able to maximize design efficiences on projects.
- Have some CAD experience - you will may be assisting with these functions as needed.
- Provide overarching project communication and guidance.
- Spearhead the QA/QC process for fiber design work.
- Design various types of fiber work (i.e. FTTH, MDU, backhaul work).
Our client is seeking the following qualifications:
- At least two years of experience working with FTTH design plans.
- Experience with fiber design software including but not limited to: ArcGIS, 3GIS, QGIS and others.
